Program 1 – Electrical Safety, Isolation & Verification
The Electrical Safety, Isolation & Verification Program is a structured online professional development program for electrical practitioners holding a Tasmanian electrical practitioner licence.
The Program consists of five CBOS approved CPD Modules covering electrical safety, isolation, arc flash, testing and verification, and apprentice supervision.

Module 1.1 – Testing & Verification
This module provides comprehensive training in the inspection, testing and verification of electrical installations, including safe testing practices, test equipment, visual inspection, mandatory test sequence, earthing, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault-loop impedance, RCD testing and verification records.
Module 1.2 – Why Isolate?
Focus on the legislative and safety reasons for isolation, prevention of inadvertent re-energisation, lock-out, tagging and proving de-energisation.
Module 1.3 – Isolation – Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO)
Focus on practical isolation procedures, securing isolation, personal locks, tags, stored energy, PPE, test equipment and incident case studies.
Module 1.4 – Arc Flash Awareness & Risk Management
Focus on arc flash hazards, risk assessment, hierarchy of controls, PPE, boundaries, labelling and risk mitigation.
Module 1.5 – Apprentice Supervision
Focus on supervisor responsibilities, apprentice responsibilities, competence assessment, risk assessment, direct/general/broad supervision and inspection of supervised work.

Program Duration
The Program consists of five online webinar Modules. Participants can complete the Program progressively, with each Module completed separately and assessed individually.
Who Should Enrol?
Tasmanian electrical practitioner licence holders who want to strengthen their knowledge of electrical safety, isolation, testing and verification, arc flash risk and apprentice supervision.
Assessment & Certification
Participants are required to complete a post-training knowledge assessment for each Module and achieve a minimum pass mark of 80%. Successful participants receive the applicable CBOS-approved CPD points and a Certificate of Completion.
